Friday Favorites
Whew!! It's been a minute since I have had some time to just sit down and write! I feel totally overwhelmed with trying to work from home & keep my own kids fed and happy all day long. LOL!
I'll just be sharing a few pictures of what we have been up to lately, some of my favorite moments around our house...
We have been spending a lot of time outside. Luckily, we have a good sized front and backyard to keep us occupied. These girls were sitting on the bench but kept wanting to watch whatever was on the t.v. INSIDE! Silly kids!
Every once in a while I catch them playing together and being happy. Mackenzie is a social butterfly and craves social interaction so this has been a hard few weeks for her. She's only 3 so she doesn't really understand how to handle it all and her emotions tend to get the best of her sometimes. Unfortunately, she takes it out on her little sister from time to time. :( So when I see them being happy together, I snap a few photos!

We got some new hair bows in the mail so of course I had to get her all dressed up and try them out! We absolutely love Little Lopers bows. They are adorable and great quality. It is owned by a regular ol' mom like you and me so I love to support her business.
Madison is officially 11 months old!! (And actually, now, she's almost 1!!) Like, WHAT!?! Where has the year gone? I am just blown away by how fast she is growing up. I am so thankful to be able to spend these couple of months with her, even if it is due to a scary virus. The only thing I'm a little....okay a lot....bummed about is her birthday party. One is HUGE in our house. We do it BIG for their first birthday and unfortunately her party will have to be postponed. Luckily I have already bought just about everything I need for it with the exception of a few things. I guess it will all just sit in the cabinet for now... *sigh*
This picture is one of my favorites I took of her this week. She is almost always so happy and smiling at everyone and everything. We had a conference call for work this morning on google hangouts. If you are unfamiliar with google hangouts, it is like a video call where you can hide your camera and microphone (thank goodness!!). Our principal was talking and Madison was just waving and waving at her. It was ADORABLE.
This picture makes my heart SO happy. I have been religious about getting their pictures taken with Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny since they were born and I was beyond bummed that I wasn't going to be able to do that this year. I am so thankful I stumbled across this website! They give you instructions for taking a quality photo of your kid(s) and then they photo shop it into a picture with the Easter Bunny! It's not as good as the real thing but it's still a picture for the scrapbook!

I feel like it is never to early for some exposure to the alphabet. :) Kindergarten teacher here...can ya tell!? Mackenzie loves to color and paint. I mean she LOVES it. She'll sit at the table for hours coloring if I let her. Stencils are great to help develop fine motor skills while teaching them to color in the lines. And, of course, lets them learn some letters while they're at it. If you make learning fun for them they won't even know they are learning! Even though Mackenzie is only 3 we are introducing the letters every chance we get. We have the letters for the bathtub, too, and she really enjoys learning them that way so I knew she would like these. (I was right!)

We have also been playing dress up! Mostly with her Elsa costume....by the way...we have watched Frozen 1 & 2 about 20 times in the last 4 weeks.... *face palm!*
Anyway, I found this costume jewelry on Amazon and thought we'd give it a shot. I needed a pink necklace for Madison's cake smash pictures that we are doing this weekend and could only find one in a whole package so I thought, "what the hey!"
Clearly she is cooler than I am. 😂
Another super cool thing I found for Mackenzie is this writing tablet. It is only $9 and is perfect for her to practice writing those letters we've been working on! Or anything really.
She used to constantly ask us for our phones when she was younger. Thankfully, we have broken that habit and she is rarely on them at all now but this will help her feel like she is part of the technology club without ruining her little eyes!!

I love that Easter bunny idea; whish they had had that when my kids were younger. I always had one boy that was scared of characters (Santa included!) so more often than not either one was missing from the photo or crying.
