Friday Favorites #3

Hello again! It's my favorite day of the week! Friday! I LOVE Fridays because there is so much to be thankful for every single time Friday comes up.

1. I made it through the work week! Sometimes this was an easier task and sometimes it was a struggle. Teaching kindergarten is a wonderful and rewarding job but it can be a struggle!

2. To go along with #1, Friday's tend to be a little more fun for Kindergarten. Science experiments, fun centers, field trips, etc. MORE FUN!

3. It's the weekend! Whether I am planning a fun-filled weekend with my family or planning a weekend to just relax and enjoy all the baby cuddles I can get, it is the weekend. It is time to rejuvenate myself and my mind for the next week. (Plus, I ALWAYS clean something....or everything... during the weekend and this is literally my favorite. It relieves so much stress and anxiety for me and then I can start the week with a clean house! *All the praise hands here!*)

Anyyyywho, my first favorite for this week is this quote. Oh. My. Stars. It really hit home with me this week on so many different levels.

I don't consider myself to be a "new" mom anymore but there are still times where I get nervous. I can totally handle 1 kid on my own when I'm out and about but 2 is a little scary. It is overwhelming and I am outnumbered.

Last summer, I had a 2 year old and a newborn. I wasn't about to leave my house alone! I feel like Mackenzie got gypped. A 2 year old should be out playing at a park or museum, going swimming, playing with friends, etc. She barely got to do any of that last summer because I had a newborn attached to me all the time. My goal this summer is to take her somewhere AT LEAST once a week. I will be afraid but I will do it anyway!

So here is your motivation for this Friday. Do it, even if you are scared. No matter what it is. Take a chance. Be brave. Do it! You never know where you can go in life if you don't try!

My second favorite of the week is something I am super thankful to have found.

I have been having trouble with my gallbladder. Or at least I think it's my gallbladder. Everything I have found on google and everyone I have talked to about what I am experience assures me that's what it is. I've been doing a lot of research about the gallbladder and what it's function actually is in my body. ....because I had no idea! HA!

So I have learned that it's main job is to break down fats. Well, I eat a lot of fat apparently. So I have started trying to watch the fat content in everything I eat now and I'll tell you what, that is hard! I have started using Thrive Market to order some healthier snacks. Lastly, something super fun I got to do this week was dance! If you don't know me, I have a dance background of like 20 years. Literally. It was my LIFE when I was growing up and all throughout college. It was my stress-reliever. I even received a scholarship in college for dancing.

I miss it. I miss it so incredibly much sometimes.

Our Fifth Graders put on a musical every year thanks to our amazing music teacher. She has way more patience than I do because there's no way I could orchestrate an entire musical with 30 ten and eleven year olds! They will perform it for all the students and staff and again for the community.

The past couple of years she has asked me to help her with some of the choreography and cleaning of dances and it makes my heart so happy to help! Sure, it's some late nights at school when I wish I was at home with my babies but it does me so good to help spread the love of dance to some younger kiddos. Plus, it's a little workout for this old lady!

We are working on Aladdin. It is so fun to see their enthusiasm for it. They take such pride in what they are doing! I am very impressed with our students. They sure have grown up a lot since I taught them in First Grade! *tear*
